Can we predict death with astrology?

Can We Predict Death With Astrology?
There is a common question about whether it is possible to predict the death of a human being with the help of the birth chart using astrological methods. Is it possible to state about it accurately? This is a common question raised by several aspiring astrology scholars and students.
Before jumping in to quick solutions for this highly sensitive query, it is important to discuss a few facts about how death actually happens. The different parameters that make death happen to someone are to be explored. There are several opinions forwarded about the concept of predicting death per astrological documentations by past authentic scholars.
10 Death Causing Dangers
There are general theories proposed about death causing dangers for every ascendant (Lagna) per past astrological documentations.
For instance, for those who are born in the sign of Aries, the probable periods of near-death dangers might hit the native to be during the ages of 2, 5, 9, 13, 18, 22, 40, 42, 50, and 55. This mathematical projection is based on mathematical deductions based on the personal experience of the author for a 70 year period. This mathematical projection reveals that if the ascendant native escapes the clutches of death dangers across all these 10 phases, the life of the native can be until age 70 and so on. This is not a unique prediction. Rather, this has been revealed as a general rule.
Per documents, there are 10 death causing dangers by the age of 70 prescribed for each ascendant. The native of the horoscope either escapes or gets trapped in death through each of these dangerous phases in life. Those who escape the death testing times continue to survive. In this method, a standardized age limit has been proposed for every ascendant without insights in to dasha periods, bhukthis or antharam calculations.
This projection about death and related dangers makes us wonder about the quality and accuracy of the proposed theory or math as applicable. A random lagnam and a general idea about so many years of life for the specific lagna.
The different lagnas have been grouped as:
Saram (movable or cardinal signs)
Sthiram (fixed signs)
Ubhayam (dual nature – mutable signs – fixed for some time and movable for some time)
For instance, all cardinal signs have been allotted with 66 years approximately, and within the span of 66 years, the native of the horoscope has been allotted to likely come across death causing dangers through different years, per specific documentations. While such documentations exist, astrological researchers have not been able to arrive at formulas that lead to the 10 death causing risk lines! This is because most of the astrological documentations have been done in a way where the authors of specific clauses have not written down their names rather they have documented names of Gods, Rishis, or Seers as a method of honoring their favorite Gods and Gurus whom they believe have blessed them in arriving at a specific knowledge.
While most documentations and declarations have been done in the names of Gods,
Rishis and Seers, it is still being considered unethical to question the authenticity of such declarations.
When we go deeper in to such ancient documentations, it has been seen that several astrological clauses and information have been given away as extracts from the conversation between Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvathi, and Lord Naradha as having placed queries and so on.
God Based Astrological Clauses
God based astrological clauses could have been probably proposed in a way to make the best use of the strong religious faith of the people of the past era to integrate and ensure appropriate usage of the science of astrology in the mainstream life styles of those days.
Therefore, most astrological documentations of the past have been documented as those that have been declared by The Gods.
When we think about the perspective of the formula based on why such general predictions have been thus written, we are not able to really arrive at a satisfactory decision. This is because most of the documented scripts making the basic foundational language for astrology texts is based on Sanskrit and related scripts.
There have been translations done about such scripts to the Tamil language in poetic forms. However, in such translations some poems are those that have been delivered with a complete understanding of what has been told in the original language and some are those that have been translated with just a partial understanding of the Sanskrit scripts.
Several palm scripts and documentations that might provide the basics leading to such schools of thought about death and related time is not clearly available. This can be probably because the documents got destroyed with the flow of time, war, or due to greed of people involved in mastering such knowledge.
And, we are still not sure about the fate of valid missing proofs that might support such declarations made by Gods, Seers, Rishis, and Astrological authors who proposed such theories.
Therefore, we are not firmly aware of the foundational basis on why the scholars of the past proposed probable limitations for different ascendants and probable death times and near death risks during different ages.
You Are an Astrologer and Someone Is Approaching You
For instance, consider someone approaching you for an astrological reading. The first thing we head on to is to decide on the life span of the native. By virtue of what we are taught:
We check in to the lagna
We check in to the planets in the lagna
We check in to the status of the lagna lord
We check in to the bhava in which the lagna lord stands
We check in to status of the planets that are executing the dhasa and the related evil effects if any.
We check in to the status of the planets that are executing the dhasha-bhukthi and the related evil effects.
After checking through all these parameters, when it is clear that in one way or the other, the above parameters are in some kind of association with the 6, 8 and 12th bhavas and where the lord of the Lagna is also not strong enough to fight through the battle for self-survival, then we recommend the native of the horoscope to be cautious during those periods. This is where we as astrologers sense the pinch of probable near-death risks. This might convert to death or it might not and the native might escape the death traps as well.
Declaration
All we can say as astrological scholars is that, in cases where the native escapes the risk line periods that might lead to death, and then it means that the life span will extend until the next risk phase!
All that the astrologers can say is about the existence of the risk and that longevity is a possibility if the native escapes the trap.
Will the risk of death end, thereby improving prospects of longevity after a specific dhasha, bhukthis or antharam?
Not at all……!
This can be best illustrated pulling out a discussion from the life of The Buddha. Buddha put forth a question to his students asking them about what they think is the promised life span for a human being. One of the disciples stated, 60, another stated, 70, another stated 80 and so on. After listening to the opinions of his disciples, what The Buddha had to say based on his enlightened knowledge base is that “The life span of a human being is measured merely by the size of one breathing cycle, which consists of one unit of inspiration and one unit of expiration?”
The philosophical bearing in this explanation is that, one unit of inspiration and one unit of expiration completes the breathing cycle and therein the lifespan is complete with the cycle. After the completion of the breathing cycle with the expiration, when the human being inspires a new gulp of air, that is considered to be another new birth (hmm…kind of re-incarnation… the same human being is re-born after a mini-death with the completion of expiration).
Mathematical Proposal Tuning Down To Death
With this being the state, when astro-mathematicians sported to estimate about (…nth value of the breathing cycle right from the birth time of the native of a horoscope leading to clinical separation of the body and the life force) which inspiration or expiration process in the breathing cycle of the human being will lead to clinical death, they arrived at a workable yet hard to pin down mathematical proposal.

Longevity Cannot Be Declared For People Who Get Angry Very Often
Rule #1: Do not declare longevity to people who get angry very often.
According to Brihat Jataka, the author has to say that when the native of the horoscope is someone who gets angry very often, then there will definitely be incompatibility between the longevity results given by the mathematical formula versus what will unfold with time. Rule #1 Therefore, it is not advisable to declare the longevity of people who get angry very often.
In the current day era, the idea of tolerance is literally absent in most human beings. People of the past era were tolerant to a great degree and therefore the longevity math worked to a great extent. These days, a vast majority of people will be automatically disqualified from being eligible for the mathematical calculations applicable for the estimation of longevity due to the inherent behavior of frequent outbursts of anger.
